Roll-O-Tron media consists of a continuous filament glass fiber material heavily coated with Viscosine adhesive. This densely woven media has 20% more strands of glass fiber than Roll-O-Mat. The fibers are arranged in a progressive density design having larger diameter fibers widely spaced on the air entering side and smaller fibers spaced closely together on the air leaving side. This construction prevents faceloading and increases arrestance and dust holding capacity. Supplemental support strength is provided by a series of flexible glass “wires” running the length of the 65-foot roll.
A heavy kraft paper “leader” and a similar “trailer” are attached to the leading and trailing ends of the roll. This feature allows the entire Roll-O-Tron media to be exposed to the air stream. The leader is also used in threading a new roll of media through the automatic roll filter unit.
Roll-O-Tron media is designed for use primarily in AAF Roll-O-Tron electronic agglomerators. It may also be used in AAF Roll-O-Matic filters for general air filtration applications where higher arrestance is desired (the o perating temperature of the Roll-O-Tron is higher when used for these applications).
