Inlet Air Heating
In cold regions with high humidity, inlet systems can be subject to the formation of hoarfrost sometimes referred to as icing. This typically occurs when the outside air temperature is near the freezing point. AAF has supplied many inlet systems containing heat exchanger coils, which operate when conditions exist for hoarfrost formation, to eliminate this phenomenon. If a chiller is on the jobsite, these same heat transfer coils can be used for turbine inlet air cooling.
