 American Air Filter, also known as AAF International, has been in business since the 1920s. We developed the AmerKleen line of diesel engine intake filters and housings in conjunction with EMD in 1970. Since the 1970s, the majority of locomotives delivered in North American were equipped with the AmerKleen bags and housings. The first locomotive to go 1,000,000 miles before a major overhaul was equipped with AmerKleen bags.
For nearly 30 years AAF has offered the AmerKleen size 2500 Standard 92 day bag filter. The AmerKleen EL - Extended Life 184 day bag filter has been available since the 1980s. AAF offers both of these proven products at the most competitive pricing level in the industry.

AAF AmerKleen bags are the only bag approved on the OEM level by both EMD and GE. We supply several of the Class 1 Railroads in the US as well as Regional, Transits, Shortlines, the Marine market and the Stationary Diesel Generator market.
In addition to our AmerKleen bag filters, we also offer a complete line of AmerKleen filter housings for new installations, overhauls, upgrades, or retrofits from alternate filter systems. AAF offers custom products & services to meet the specific needs for each installation. There are so many possibilities in this area, that we will offer application assistance upon demand.
AAF also offers a complete line of filters for the Transit market. These products are used to clean air provided to both passengers & equipment
