Contractor shall furnish and install the AAF-OSS self-contained, extractor and utility fume control plenum per plans. The unit shall be an AAF-OSS as supplied by AAF International of Louisville, Kentucky, USA, or approved equal.

Each unit shall consist of one each; cylindrical filtration module, motor blower module, on/off control, and 48x24 utility fume control (UFC) plenum with adjustable side draft louvers and dust tray. The AAF-OSS shall be completely factory assembed as a self contained unit. Each unit shall be neatly finished with hammer style, powder coat, thoroughly tested and properly packaged for shipping. Both filtration and blower modules must be the product of the same manufacturer to insure undivided responsibility and simplified servicing. The extractor precision sheetmetal fabriction shall be fabricated in an ISO-9001 compliant facility and the complete packaged unit shall bear the ETL/CSA label.

SECTION II. EXTRACTOR CAPACITY RATING

The capacity of each unit at nominal rating shall be to produce at least 3175 actual cubic feet per minute. Free air rating shall be at least 4800 cubic feet per minute airflow with new cartridges. Fan wheel is a 15 airfoil, backward inclined, non-overloading high efficiency spark resistant type. Motor shall be; 5 HP,  3450 RPM, 208v/13.2A, 230v/12.2A, 460v/6.1A, 575v/5.8A,
 3 Phase, 60HZ.

SECTION III. EXTRACTOR DESIGN AND SIZE

Extractor shall be of a downflow design with filter, inlet cone, fan, and motor aligned vertically in the same plane. Total dimensions are not to exceed inline configuration 76 H x48 L x 26 W Over the side configuration 76H x 40L x 35W. The top mounted 14 diameter intake and cyclonic separator is designed to extinguish sparks and distribute airflow evenly across the filtration media. The entire intake and separation assembly is mounted to the hinged utility fume control platform, side mounted air piston provides mechanically assisted open and closed for filter cartridge maintenance. The primary filter cartridge consists of 450 square feet of pleated composite cellulose 99.9% efficient at .3 micron particulate size. A vertically centered threaded rod and locking nut provide gasket compression on the filter element. The extractor will have a minimum of 25 sq. feet of 1 thick class one acoustical lining. Total extractor noise shall not exceed 74 DBA @ 3 ft. The extractor will make use of stamped convection louvers in the side panel to enhance heat transfer away from the motor. The housing frame, filter pedestal, and side panels shall be of 12 Ga. Steel construction.

The side panels are situated to provide access to two sides of the fan wheel, motor, and electrical fittings. Top discharge silencer provides direction correctional attenuation of high frequency blower noise.

SECTION IV. CONTROLS AND FITTINGS.

All junctions, connectors, leads, strain relief grommets, wiring and components are ETL/CSA recognized components.

Blower/Motor control shall be of the on/off operation type, and may include 115VAC step-down transformer for integral high intensity LHX Hood lighting. The motor starter shall be equipped with thermal overload and under voltage protection. Motor/Blower control box shall be panel mounted and so located on collector to provide ease of servicing and use.

SECTION V. TEST

A QC inspection of the extractor shall include physical inspection of the following:

1. Finish
2. Motor Mounts
3. Shaft
4. Key Way
5. Fan and Cone Alignment

A trial power up shall be performed to test controls and proper fan rotation. A test of the acoustical lining for adhesive performance shall be performed. The primary filter cartridge shall be inspected for gasket seal, pleat seal, end cap damage, tears or pin holes. A final alignment check of cartridge and pre-filter wrap for proper position on pedestal shall be performed, and the filter assembly properly fastened to a threaded center post prior to shipment

SECTION VII. OWNERS MANUAL

Instructions for installation, operation and maintenance of the extractor shall be contained in a manual provided with each extractor unit.
