SECTION I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Contractor shall furnish and install the AAF-RPV self-contained, self-cleaning dry particulate collector per plans. The unit shall be the AAF-RPV as supplied by AAF International of Louisville, Kentucky, USA, or approved equal.
Each unit shall consist of a cabinet style filtration module, motor/blower module, Reverse Pulse control, compressed air manifolds, 1” diaphragm valves attached to blast nozzles (patent pending). The collector shall be completely factory assembled as a self-contained unit. Each collector shall be neatly finished with durable hammer style powder coat, thoroughly tested and properly packaged for shipping. Extractor precision sheet metal shall be fabricated in an ISO 9001 compliant facility and the complete packaged unit shall bear the ETL/CSA Label.
SECTION II. COLLECTOR CAPACITY RATING
Free air rating shall be at least 5500 cubic feet per minute airflow with new cartridges. Fan wheel is a 15” airfoil, backward inclined non-overloading high efficiency spark resistant type.
Motor shall be; 5 HP, 3450 RPM, 208v/13.2A, 230v/12.2A, 460v/6.1A, 575v/5.8A, 3 Phase 60HZ.
Primary filter cartridges are to be 100% spun bond polyester. Hydro Oleophobic (HO) treated polyester 80/20 cell/poly blend type media may also be used depending upon the application specification. The cartridges are to be 30”Hx 18”ODx 14”ID. Spun bond polyester media is 99.9% efficient at .3 micron particulate size.
SECTION III. COLLECTOR DESIGN SIZE
Collector shall be of a downflow design with one 16” diameter top mounted intake, directing flow onto an internally mounted diffusion plate and around two vertically mounted filter cartridge elements. The cartridges rest on a sloped blower transition plenum.
At the junction of the transition plenum and the base housing panel are to be four removable dust trays.
A minimum of four clear inches of space shall exist between the cartridge and the housing walls on three sides (better air flow distribution). A minimum of eight inches of space shall separate the cartridges (limits cross blasting of particulate when reverse pulsing).
Metal clamp down compression strips are required to secure the cartridge filters to the blower plenum.
The main collector housing will have a minimum of 25 sq. feet of 1” thick class 1 acoustical lining. Total blower noise shall not exceed 78 DBA @ 3ft. on the discharge side of the collector.
The AAF-RPV extractor will make use of standard convection louvers in the side panels to enhance heat transfer away from the motor.
The Motor/blower frame, panels and housing will be 12 ga. welded steel construction. The side panels are situated to provide access to two sides of the fan wheel motor, and electrical fittings.
The filter module housing and blower plenums shall be of 12 ga. welded steel construction with a single hinged access door that is fitted with a “compression” gasket and will allow access to both filter cartridges and all four dust trays.

The reverse pulse assembly, consisting of the air manifolds, 1” diaphragm valves and blast nozzles shall be mounted to the sides and beneath the blower plenum with a diaphragm valve and blast nozzle centered directly below each cartridge.
SECTION IV. CONTROLS AND FITTINGS.
All junctions, connectors, leads, strain relief grommets, wiring and components are ETL/CSA recognized components. Blower/Motor control shall be of the on/off operation type. The motor starter shall be equipped with thermal overload and under voltage protection. Motor/Blower control box shall be panel mounted and so located on collector to provide ease of servicing and use.
SECTION V. FILTER MODULE CONTROLS
A manual reverse pulse controller shall be installed behind the filter module and shall be of on/off type. An optional reverse pulse controller shall provide an automatic cleaning sequence of the filter cartridges. The cleaning process with the optional control is activated when the ΔP set point is exceeded by the actual ΔP value. When the set point is exceeded the controller activates the electric diaphragm valves according to a preset, constant pulse and interval time setting. A digital display shall record the preset filter module ΔP set point value. The optional controller will also perform a final cleaning sequence upon shut down of the system.
SECTION VI. TEST
A QC inspection of the collector shall include physical inspection of the following:
1. Finish
2. Motor Mounts
3. Shaft
4. Key Way
5. Fan and Cone Alignment
Followed by a trial power-up to test the reverse pulse controller, motor/blower control, and direction of fan rotation. Finally a test of the acoustical lining for adhesive performance and a physical inspection of the primary filter cartridges for shipping damage, pleat seal, gasket seal, tears and/or pin holes.
SECTION VII. OWNER’S MANUAL
A. Instructions for installation, operation and maintenance of the collector shall be contained in the owner’s manual provided with each collector unit.
B. A wiring diagram corresponding to the collector shall be included in the owner’s manual.
C. Instructions for operating the reverse pulse controller and the corresponding wiring diagram shall be contained in the owner’s manual provided with each collector unit.
SECTION VIII. WARRANTY
The collector shall have a one year ( 12 month) material and workmanship warranty. All other components are covered by a one year manufacturer’s (12 month) warranty.
