AstroSeal Type S
High Quality Side Access Systems for High
Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filter

Any filter is only as good as its holding device. If you are specifying HEPA level filtration efficiencies you should also specify a housing good enough to match the filter. The AstroSeal Type S housing is specifically intended to perform as efficiently as your HEPA filters. The AstroSeal Type S housing is used in combination with AAF International outstanding line of quality filter products.

Typical Applications

  • Pharmaceutical Facilities
  • Hospitals and other Health Care Facilities
  • Food Facilities
  • Industrial Research Facilities
  • Electronic Equipment Protection
  • Electronics Manufacturing
  • Industrial Processes

Efficiency

The AstroSeal Type S housing features a spring loaded screw actuated locking mechanism which fully engages and seals the HEPA particulate filter or carbon adsorber filter against the filter sealing surface. Both Gasket and Gel Seal options are available. This "positive seal" ensures that all of the contaminated air passes through the filter and does not by-pass around the filter.

All joints and seams in the AstroSeal Type S housing are fully sealed to ensure that air will not leak across the housing pressure boundary, or between compartments within the housing.

System efficiencies of 99.97+% on 0.3 micron particulate are standard.

Factory Pressure Test
A factory pressure test is available to ensure that the AstroSeal Type S housing meets the most stringent housing leak test specifications.

Maintenance
Filter cartridges are replaced from outside the enclosure. Filters are removed and installed by hand, no special tools are required.

Rugged Construction
The AstroSeal Type S enclosure is constructed using 14 gauge steel and all joints and seams are fully sealed. The enclosure is structurally reinforced to resist pressures up to +/-20 inches water column (0.72 psi).
