Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation, COVID-19, the global coronavirus pandemic is now affecting us all and I’m sure like me, you are very concerned. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. We would like to echo the many sentiments of support, respect and gratitude to the medical and healthcare teams around the world who continue to serve us all so admirably just now.

At the AAF Power & Industrial Group (P&I) we are doing everything we can to help during this incredibly difficult time. We have donated some of our protective equipment to the authorities in various countries so that this can be put to use protecting the front-line medics who are fighting the virus. Although we do not make clinical items, our raw materials can be used in masks and ventilation filters.  Where possible, we are moving the raw materials to ensure better use and we are investigating the repurposing of some of our equipment and capability to support the immediate needs of the various countries we operate in.

At the P&I Group we pride ourselves on our approach to safety and have our very own ‘Think Safe, Filter the Risks’ slogan, which we use on a daily basis to spread the message of safety across our organization. The ‘Think Safe, Filter the Risks’ sentiment could not be more appropriate today.

We will do everything we can to protect our employees and their families, our customers and our suppliers. We’ve commenced specific containment actions to ensure people remain protected and in doing so we will play our part to prevent further spread of the virus and help protect the wider population.

Throughout the global P&I business we are now evolving to a completely different style of working. We have transitioned to the virtual world swiftly and effectively to minimize disruption and ensure we remain open for business and our employees remain connected to our customers, suppliers and each other. We are also very adaptable with a global presence and will work extremely hard to ensure we continue to support our customers, using the full stretch of our business from China to Mexico.

These are going to be very challenging times, probably more challenging than anything we have witnessed in our lifetimes.  Protecting business starts with protecting people, but I believe working together we can achieve the best for the health of our employees, keep our customers supported, and sustain our future business.

Please look after each other and stay safe.
