Summary

The AstroSeal filter is constructed in the same way as the AstroCel I except for a 13/16” square batten strip or flange for side access installations. The flange is attached to the filter frame on the top and bottom, flush with the air entering side. The filter consists of water-proofed, fire-retardant fiberglass media formed into a series of pleats. Corrugated sheets of aluminum separate the pleats of media to permit maximum usage at minimum resistance. The media is enclosed in a filter frame made of 3⁄4" fire retardant particle board or galvanized steel. The media pack is bonded to the sides of the frame for an airtight seal. AstroSeal filters do not require gaskets.

AstroSeal HEPA filters are used primarily in “clean rooms” and “clean benches,” areas which require the very highest levels of contamination control. The AstroSeal filter is designed for the Old Design AAF AstroSeal side access system. The Newer Design AstroSeal 500 Housing will accept any 24” x 24” x 11-1/2” actual size filter without gaskets.
