SAAFBlend engineered gas removal chemical media is designed to efficiently remove 99.5% of specific gaseous contaminants from airstreams. Target contaminants include sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, formaldehyde, hydrocarbons (VOC's), and lower molecular weight aldehydes and organic acids.

SAAFBlend media is manufactured from an equal volumetric mix of SAAFCarb and SAAFOxidant pellet media. SAAFCarb is composed of activated carbon media, made from high quality virgin substrates that remove toxic and impure gases by physical adsorption. SAAFOxidant is composed of a combination of activated alumina and other binders. Potassium permanganate, an oxidizing agent, is impregnated to this media combination in order to provide optimum adsorption, absorption, and oxidation of gaseous contaminants into harmless solids.

SAAFOxidant media is effective in commercial and industrial systems, withstanding velocities from 0.30 to 2.5 m/s. The media operates at -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C) under 10–95% relative humidity (RH).
