AAF AmerKleen filter cartridges are protected at all times by an all metal, filter housing. The AmerKleen housing is equipped with an anti-surge assembly consisting of a wire form attached to the back of each sealing frame. By holding the cartridge firmly in place, the housing protects it against turbo-surge.
The AmerKleen cartridge is designed to be changed at the normal 90-day maintenance cycle, with an adequate safety margin should the locomotive encounter delays in servicing. When the time comes, installation is a fast and easy process. By the simple removal of two bolts and a sealing frame, the AmerKleen cartridge is front-loaded. Replacing the sealing frame automatically forms an air-tight seal. Normal air flow through the filter insures that all seals remain tight without the need for time-consuming alignment.
