AAF AmerKleen cartridge filters incorporate the advantages of disposable cartridge filters with superior features for greater locomotive engine protection and improved operating performance. The AmerKleen features filter life geared to normal maintenance periods, reduced operating costs, fast, easy, installation and low pressure drop.

The Double-Pak design of the cartridge gives double thickness of media throughout for long service life and optimum engine protection against wear caused by airborne dust. Viscous, fire retardant adhesive coats the glass fibers in large quantities to hold this dust. The catridge is designed to be changed at the normal 90-day maintenance cycle, with an adequate safety margin should the locomotive encounter delays in servicing. The cartridge is conveniently front-loaded and covered by a replaceable sealing frame for simple, air-tight installation.

The AmerKleen 1200 series is a scaled-down version of the standard 2500 series. The size 1200 filter offers all the advantages of the full-size cartridge plus the ability to be applied in smaller compartments.
